World's Forgotten Crises

The facts about Reuter Foundation AlertNet's top 10 forgotten crises are mind-boggling, shocking. What a killing planet we are in! How could they have been forgotten or ignored by media?

How terrible it must really be particularly for the affected children.

Horrifying. I'll put a link to this on my blog as well.

I don't understand what's going on in Africa. It's as if somehow the countries there managed to gain large populations, overpopulated by primitive agricultural standards, and yet don't have the stability to support it, to the point where now there is only anarchy in most of the continent, where anybody who can get together a gang of thugs can rampage over everybody else. The latest I heard from the Congo was that a militia group came in from Uganda and is murdering and torturing and eating theri way through the local population. One woman said she was forced to watch as they boiled two of her daughters alive and ate them. And it goes on and on and on.
