A Healthy Coincidence


Interestingly, the phrase "ten thousand steps" has been used in the literal sense, synonymous with fitness walking.

The Cooper Institute of Aerobics Research, in particular, found that 10,000 steps (about 5,000 miles) each day "may be helpful in lowering body fat, improving blood pressure and increasing cardio-respiratory (aerobic) fitness."
